Job Summary

Responsbile for advising the organization’s leadership team and workgroups data-driven recommendations using explorative, predictive and prescriptive analytics for enhancing quality outcomes, operational performance and patient experience. In partnership with the leadership team, this individual will design and develop an analytics strategy that focusses on driving a culture of data driven decision making at all levels of the organization. A core focus area will be on the management of the Pay-for-Performance programs (Value-Based Purchasing, Readmissions Reductions Program, Hospital Acquired Conditions). This will be done through the utilization of advanced data analytics, process improvement and project management skills to advise improvement efforts with a goal of maximizing impact on hospital revenue. Reports to the VP of Quality and Performance Improvement and is responsible for the management of technical interns within the department.

Minimum Education
Masters’ degree in Business Analytics/Data Science or Operations Management/Industrial engineering, Statistics

Certifications preferred: Lean/Six Sigma, CPHQ, PMP/CAPM, CAP/ACAP

Minimum Work Experience

3 -5 years of work experience is required in Performance Improvement/Data Analytics related team; ideally in a hospital, large health center or relevant service organization

Required Skills
Capable of and willing to learn and apply new technologies and skills, especially in the rapidly developing field of data analytics, in relatively short period of time. Leverage data and analytics to identify and develop innovative and out-of-the-box analytical solutions for improving quality and operational performance of the hospital. Experience in identifying & defining KPIs/metrics and creating dashboards using BI tools like Tableau, Spotfire etc. Experience in data manipulation, data visualization, statistical modelling (GLMs etc.), machine learning (supervised learning), time series modelling, optimization models (Risk Solver etc.) Experience in either R or Python and other in statistical packages like SAS, SPSS, and Minitab etc. Basic understanding of data governance, data architecture etc. Knowledge of SQL preferred. Create discrete-event simulations to support strategic business decision making and/or clinical work flow re-design. Experience in the successful design, implementation and completion of interdepartmental project management Knowledge of CMS, NCQA, HEDIS, P4P, Medicare Stars and other performance metrics preferred. Exceptional communications skills (both verbal and written), with experience presenting to audience across all levels (technical and non-technical). Fluent in translating high-level business goals into technical specs and communicating low-level technical concerns about implementation back to business leaders.
